Our certificate program in Computer Information System provides fundamental understanding of microcomputer operation. Students are first introduced to the disk operating system and learn the basic techniques of file manipulation, use of floppy diskettes, and micro-based programming language. Students then begin to concentrate on the three most commonly used microcomputer application areas: Word processing, spreadsheet management, and database management.

Students develop complete knowledge and skills to perform basic and advanced functions in each application. Students later learn PowerPoint and Internet applications. Graduates of this program will be competent to utilize, maintain, and customize each application as an entry-level microcomputer operator.
